I talk to myself all
day long, sometimes inside my head but most of the time I hear myself speaking aloud. Doesn’t matter where I am, in the
grocery store, cooking in my kitchen, just taking the dogs for a walk – I
always seem to have something on my mind! I try not to waste my thinking time
on trivial thoughts, so now I am trying to catch myself when the thousands of
unconstructive thoughts are running through my mind and replace them with fabulous
positive thoughts—you know, thoughts that will actually make a difference in my
life.
There is a blog I
follow called “Cauldrons and Cupcakes”.
Nicole, the creator of this blog, lives in Australia and her way of life is so
different from mine in so many ways. Although she is a world away and we are so
different, I feel a real connection to her and the things she writes about. The
other day she was writing about affirmations, in which I am a true believer. I
believe if you truly believe and practice affirmations, you can change anything
you like in your life.
I picked out three of
her favourite affirmations and as I said before, I am going to try to replace
all the bothersome empty ideas in my mind with these three positive thoughts. After
all, Brian Tracy says, “Every positive change in your life begins with a clear,
unequivocal decision that you are going to either do something or stop doing
something.” Makes perfect sense to me!
This first one I put
at the end of some emails I send to friends and family except I change it to –
“May something wonderful happen for YOU today!” When you are using it for
yourself, you would say “May something wonderful happen for ME today.” Just
think of the opportunities. Nicole says it has brought many joyful
opportunities and synchronicities into her life. It's fun. It helps you
celebrate life and sets up a vibration of joyful anticipation.
This second one, we
have all heard before: “Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better.”
What a wonderful idea; now if we could all believe in that concept. Nicole says
it unlocks her ability to expand and grow. It has attracted teachers, new
directions, inspiration, breakthroughs, healing, and miracles. Hey, I would go
for a miracle any day. I think we all could use a miracle or two now and then.
And this third one,
I’m sure we can all identify with. Have you ever been around a negative person?
Hello, if you have not, you must live on a deserted island all by yourself, and
then it could still be true. I think sometimes we can all be negative and not
even be aware that we are acting that way. The affirmation is, “I am stronger
than this.” We all get in a rut sometimes or just feel a little down or wrung
out or maybe something sad has happened in your life. You need something to
pull you out of the blues. Just keep saying to yourself, “I am stronger
than this”. I am stronger than negative people. I am stronger than trauma or
tragedy. I am stronger than ignorance or whatever other crappy life
circumstances I am currently dealing with. I am stronger than this.
Try it! What could you
possibly have to lose? And have the most wonderful day and may something
wonderful happen for you today!!
