Health awareness is not just for women these days. More and more men are taking a second look at
their own health. ARE YOU? Yes, that means YOU! Have you ever thought about adding
a massage treatment or two to the mix?
Here are some of the different types of massage and
their benefits:
These are for relaxation and who does not need to
relax from time to time? Swedish massage
is a gentle treatment involving soft, long, kneading strokes as well as a light
rhythmic, tapping stroke mainly focused on the top layers of the muscles;
combining with the movements of the joints. Relieving muscle tension,
stiffness, and even pain and resulting in a relaxing and energizing massage.
You can integrate essential oils for a Raindrop
Therapy massage, which boosts your immune systems both antiviral, and antibacterial,
plus helps you relax to the point where you sleep deeper and longer. Hot Stone massage can also be very
relaxing and soothing by using warmed stones and placing these on certain acupressure
points and then massaging those areas with gentle pressure. This releases
stiffness, tension and pain, leaving you in a relaxed state! There is another
massage that can be put into the relaxation group and that is Chair massage. It is done with you
sitting totally clothed in a special designed chair. Most sessions are only 15
– 20 minutes and have the same benefits as a regular massage, but focus on the
neck, shoulders, back, arms and hands; leaving you so calm the rest of the day
is a pleasure!
Next, we have massages which go much deeper with therapeutic
and neuromuscular work on trigger points, acupressure points, and the fascia
(connective tissue) of the muscle systems. These treatments should only be administered
by a therapist who is trained in these specific areas. Not every Massage
Therapist knows all of these different types of massage, so please ask before
beginning your session. Types include: Deep
Tissue Massage, Neuromuscular
Therapy Massage, Sports Massage,
Shiatsu Massage, Thai Massage, and Reflexology Massage. Each works on
different parts of the muscle, fascia, and joints to help an injured muscle
heal faster and have less pain. For most of these treatments the therapist has to
be trained to go deeper so there will be initially a little more pain during
the session. This pain will only last for a short time and should go away
within minutes. Some people are more sensitive than others, but working closely
with your therapist can minimize the soreness and can help them know what to do
next. The benefits outweigh the discomfort by improving circulation and flexibility,
relieving chronic pain patterns and help to remove energy blockages. There is
overall healing for all types of physical trauma and it aids in the prevention
of new injures.
So, gentlemen, if you suffer from; back pain,
headaches, poor sleep, fatigue, migraines, depression, anxiety, sore muscles,
stuff joints, neck pain, high blood pressure, lower-back pain, constipation, or
any injury that involves the muscles, joints, nerves, and fascia; help your
body heal quicker and faster with a trained Massage Therapist to help you
become a healthier and happier you! What a great Father’s Day gift to give or
get!! Invest in your health today!
