Many times we wait to show compassion. We wait to feel
compassion. We read a situation and judge it. We get angry and upset with
someone because of how they are acting. We get upset with their actions and
attitude.
Then somewhere along the way, sometimes only moments later and other times months later, we find out why that person was being totally unreasonable. We find out something terrible was going on in their life. Then suddenly something shifts inside us and it's okay to be compassionate and have understanding. This shift happens because you have seen another perspective. You have seen what you could not see before. You can feel what you could not feel before.
Excuses are not being made for cruel behaviour here. This is an article for how you react or respond to these situations so that you can live a happier life.
Compassion is meant to come first; not last and definitely not after reasoning. Live life from being compassionate and showing compassion always. This is vital to more happiness showing up in your life. Be compassionate always, then take action. Then respond.
Compassionate action is a key strategy to a happy life. Take this strategy and implement it into your everyday life and to your business.
How can we remember to have compassion first?
Start with this: practice curiosity. Curiosity opens the door for new perspectives. Embrace and embody curiosity to immediately remove judgment. Practicing curiosity will enhance your relationships in business and at home. Practicing curiosity will open doors to having compassion. Practicing curiosity empowers you and your relationships.
This summer, put on your happiness shoes and play in the land of compassionate action, embodied curiosity and empowered relationships. Then hopscotch your way to more happiness in your whole life, both at work and at home.
