A public social house where good friends meet.

What happens when you mix old school chill with new school vibes? When you merge classic rock and modern jams with people from all different walks of life? You create a rare and genuine atmosphere, diverse enough to make anyone feel welcome.

In steps Legends Bar, my friends - the only place in town where going out feels like coming home.

Legends is attached to Strathmore’s Wheatland Hotel, owned by the Gill Family who have worked, lived and supported Strathmore communities for decades and have become a pillar within the area. Since partnering with Logan Cox and Greg Thompson, Mr. Gill and the Legend’s team have become one unstoppable force.

How so, you ask? Legends Strathmore is quickly becoming one of the most popular social houses in the area. With its larger than life patio, multiple big screen TVs (spectacular for sports fans), weekend scheduled live music and a spectacular dance floor - it’s hard not to be passionate about this place.

“We’re a people’s bar,” says Logan Cox, Legends Owner and Head Chef. “Everyone who walks through our doors is treated like a friend. We want people to feel comfortable coming in, kicking back and just enjoying their night. ”

This local social house just completed a top-to-bottom renovation, giving it that modish yet downhome feel that so many of us are in search of. With its beautiful progressive lighting, sleek new counter tops and stone floors combined with its chill atmosphere, spectacular service and surplus of VLTs - it becomes the perfect balance between contemporary city and small town tavern.

“We have done our research,” says Cox, “and we have a pretty good idea about what our town was missing. We browsed menus and venues and tried to create a place that encompassed everything we couldn’t find in the areas around us.”

Logan Cox, native to Strathmore, has gained renowned experience within his field. He has overseen front of house, back of house and has consulted within the industry for over 16 years - he has also managed to acquire an undeniable adoration for music. Travelling worldwide, Logan brings with him a taste of foods, beats and culture from different countries around the globe - and has set them directly on the tables in front of us.

Legends partner and Front of House man, Greg Thompson, has over 24 years of industry experience - impressive, right? More impressive than that is that he has been so successful throughout his career that several of his past patrons have now become close friends - and their loyalty has followed him to every new venture, bar and restaurant. Speaking of loyalty, loyalty and passion are the words best used to describe Mr. Thompson; his respect for the industry and his undeniable passion and support for live music is something to be envious of.

The duo creates the perfect balance between front of house and back of house service; they are a creative and passionate team, always working to devise the next great event and/or community philanthropic exploit. In fact - just recently they hosted a fundraiser to support locals and families that had been affected by the Fort McMurray fires. And when we say they are insanely amorous about music - we mean they are insanely amorous about music. Which is why they constantly strive to bring in the best of the best in bands every weekend.

In courtesy of the Gill, Cox, Thompson partnership - and all of the wonderful members of the community - the Wheatland Hotel offers discounted rooms and rates to Legends’ guests. Say what? Yes. You heard us correctly. They do catering too! Now go ahead and tell us you don’t want to be a part of the Legends magic - we double dog dare you.
