Lots on the arts scene here in Chestermere in the coming weeks and months!

First ‘Art Days’ [www.chestermere.ca/events]www.chestermere.ca/events see attached poster, Friday Sept 26th and Saturday Sep 27th—A showcase of art and art talent in Chestermere will be on display—wine a cheese as you browse the art and watch the entertainment on Friday7-10pm! Tickets available for Friday night 403 272 7170 x 223 Chestermere Rec Centre.  In particular, don’t miss the unveiling of the replica quilt at 8:15pm on Friday.  This is a copy lovingly made by the Lakeside Guild, of one hand made by Chestermere area women in aid of veterans of WWI.  The original quilt, now owned by the Bowhay family, and registered in the Royal Alberta Museum, will be available for viewing as part of the event.   Saturday, catch the workshops and the art market and tons of entertainment for the whole family.

Next, Troop Train! A play by Gail Whiteford, playwright with Aspen Crossing Players, Troop Train tells another story of post WWII Canada—the troop train brings tears, joy and controversy when it pulls into the station.  This dessert theatre will be Saturday Nov 1st, Chestermere MP Room, tickets $37.50 per person, cash bar, doors open 5:30pm.  Tickets from Audrey 272 9280, Jen 272 3764 or www.chestermerehistory.org
